Service Description

Introduce your child to the beautiful and expressive world of American Sign Language (ASL) with our "Beginner American Sign Language" class designed for 8th graders through all-age adults. This course offers a fun and engaging introduction to ASL, focusing on basic vocabulary, fingerspelling, and simple phrases. Through interactive activities, games, and practice exercises, students will learn how to communicate effectively using sign language, while also gaining an appreciation for Deaf culture. Our experienced instructor will create a supportive and inclusive environment, encouraging students to practice their new skills and build confidence in their signing abilities. By the end of the course, students will be able to engage in basic conversations in ASL and have a solid foundation for further language learning. Class Teacher: Alex Blanton Classes are held every Tuesday from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM from September 17th to November 5th, followed by a Talent Showcase on November 12th, where all of the 6:00 Tuesday classes will show off what they have learned. Students don't have to attend all the class sessions to sign up; if they need to miss a class session, that's okay. As long as they attend the majority of the classes in the trimester, they will be able to perform at the talent showcase. $15 to book online in advance, $20 in person on the day of the class. *8th Grade through Adults indicates that a student must be in 8th grade, or the equivalent age, or older as of the 2024-2025 school year.
